Palestine Academy for Science and Technology (PALAST) attended the 2nd Management meeting on 15th October 2014 for all partners in Med-Dialogue project which organized along with the first ICT networking event, that was held in Grand Millennium Hotel in Amman from October 12 to 14, 2014. This event was organized by the Jordanian Partner in the project, the Princess Sumaya University for Technology, in cooperation with med-dialogue, MOSAIC, EU-Jordan Net, and supported by The Higher Council for Science & Technology

The main aim of the Networking Event is to bring researchers and developers from the MPC and Europe together in order to create new partnership for subsequent proposals of the Horizon 2020 ICT-related calls. These Networking Events are a follow-up of the Awareness and Training Events in MPC that should trigger new and suitable proposal ideas that can form the basis of consortia creation. Networking Events are linked to open ICT calls, and the first one was held in Amman, it focused on the H2020 ICT  topics and ICT-related Societal Challenges open for the next Call 2, with an expected submission deadline in April 2015. the sessions in the event consists of the following Topics:

Session 1: The overall context: R&I in the MPC
Session 2: ICT in HORIZON 2020
Session 3: Mediterranean Technology Platforms
Session 4: Content technologies
Session 5: Future Internet
Session 6: Intelligent Transport

More than 170 registrations were received on Med-Dialogue website, from which 155 participants from 18 countries were accepted. Five researchers from Palestinian Universities were supported and co-funded from Med-Dialogue Budget and participated in the event with other researchers from MPC and Europe to interact and exchange ideas and proposals. Our five researchers were Dr. Ahmed Abdou and Dr. Ali Jamoos from Al Quds University, Mr. Yousef Arikat from Al Quds Open University, Dr. Suhail Odeh from Bethlehem University, and Dr. Amjad Rattrout from Arab American University Jenin. Dr. Mustafa Jarrar, the Palestinian MOSAIC partner, was invited to chair the future internet session, and presented a lecture about future internet in the current H2020 calls.

It was agreed in the management meeting for Med-Dialogue partners that the 2nd Networking Event to be held in Morocco towards the end of the project in 2016, and the second awareness and Training Events in Palestine to be held in April 2015 that will address the 3rd ICT Call with an expected deadline early 2016.
